Fayose evicts RMAFC from Ekiti house

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has evicted the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission from a building owned by the state government in Ekiti.
Acting Chairman of the commission Alhaji Shettima Abba Gana stated this when he appeared before the senate committee on National planning and Economic Affairs, chaired by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (APC, Kano) to defend the 2017 budget of the commission.

Gana said Fayose forced the commission out of the building when he said they should either buy the house or leave.

''They said we should either buy the house or leave, knowing well that we cannot pay rent. The Governor is a very difficult person, so we left,''  he said.
Kwankwaso expressed dismay that overheads and recurrent expenditures of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government are on the increase.

He said it was the responsibly of heads of MDAs to ensure the judicious utilization of funds allocated to their organisations.

Fayose had last month issued a 7-day ultimatum to federal agencies occupying houses owned by Ekiti state to either buy them or leave.
Fayose in a statement signed by his special assistant on Public Communication and New media, Lere Olayinka said the decision followed failure of the agencies to pay rent.
